As I find interesting little tidbits on the net, I like to collect them. Some are humorous,
some are thoughtful, some are just, well, geeky.
Writings...
- If - Rudyard Kipling
- Comes Now the Power - Roger Zelazny
This is one of my favorite short stories, by my favorite author.
- A poster and thoughts
my friend Melissa has on her page. She's so much more eloquent about her own thoughts
than I am, and I love this poem...
Lyrics...
- Whoops - John Popper of Blues Traveler
Music!
I realize that a lot of times I listen to music, and it's very much an
indication of who I am, where my moods are, and what I think is Great
Music. So here's some links...
- Blues Traveler
A band I later found out came out of my home state of New Jersey. They
have a sound that's wonderful to just sit back and get into. Best
listened to at high volume.
Favorite Albums: Save His Soul, Four
Favorite Tracks: Whoops, Go Outside and Drive, Run-Around, Price to Pay
- Bela Fleck and the Flecktones
When I was visiting a friend of a friend in Ithaca, I had just started
playing the electric bass. When I brought this up, he asked if I had ever
heard of a bass player named Victor Wooten. I confessed I had not, and he
turned me on to a band called Bela Fleck and the Flecktones, whom Vic Wooten
played bass for. Bela Fleck is a phenomenal banjo player. His music can be
loosely classified as jazz fusion. And there's nothing like listening to
Vic Wooten make a bass sing...
At the last concert in Portsmouth, we brought Zach (then 3 months old) to
the show. He fell asleep toward the end, but Bela was kind enough to pose
for a pic with him. :)
Favorite Albums: Live Art, Tales from the Acoustic Planet
Favorite Tracks: All of them!
